The skill being explored at the end of June was a more in-depth look at the modifier list and seeing what the other tools do and seeing how it can help me in future projects. For example, the tool mirror helps you flip your object in the opposite direction it was facing when you complete editing the object. I created a ramp and I selected the modifier before I created the ramp and as soon as I finished it flipped it. I will be using these ramps to make a 3D model of a small skate park. So I learned a new technique to help me make my pieces more precise with how they look and small details like having the same corners and the same height. Summary:
I only worker on one half and use the modifier and the other half was there.

The 2019-2020 school year is about the end not in the way I would want it to end but its almost over and honestly I miss my friends and hanging out with them and chilling in the weekends with them. But I am happy that school is almost over some of my classes I will miss like DDA and P.E. they were the most fun classes I had and DDA did not scare me this year Mr.B hahahaha you thought I told you if I like it won't be hard to overcome. But honestly thank you for being and awesome teacher and having my back when I really was struggling on an assignment. You are hard on us but only to help us and I am kinda bummed out we can't make a Esports team yet but other than that my freshman year at DSA was honestly incredible and its gonna be a year I don't forget.
We have midterms right after we came back!!! This ain't it I need time to process this I gotta pass math so my average stays up but I'm scared to take this mid term I don't know how I'm going to do. But I had a wrestling tournament It was fun!!! Nice bonding with the team and a great first experience I placed 4th it is hard being a "light heavy weight" meaning I wrestle 60 pounds more than me and that ain't easy. But it was great and I studied for my midterm. After studying I felt pretty good about taking the test. We will see how I do.
Summary
Today was a great first day back from winter break. Until teachers started to talk about midterms and these other test that are coming and I was stress because were doing this when we come back. Why couldn't we have done this before we left I personal get dumb Winter break but this time I didn't thank the lord. But other than that I'm excited to work on animation in DDA. Christmas was great saw some friends I haven't seen in a while It was a nice little break for my mind and I needed that especially after keeping up with wrestling and school it's hard out here for athletes.

This week we switched from Photoshop to Illustrator and lemme tell you it's hard out here for your boy to work with things you gotta select the whole thing you can't just double click as we did in Photoshop. You gotta do that marquee selection to work with one thing but Illustrator is fun unlike Photoshop you can work outside the canvas that's really cool and you can make cool things out of basic shapes. I will miss Photoshop but Illustrator is not bad at all like I started with Photoshop let's hope I get a good basic understanding of Illustrator and get the basics down pack and start growing from there. Overall Illustrator is cool and hopefully I do will with it I made some cool gaming badges just using basic shapes!
Summary:
Vector graphics are clean you keep zooming in it looks normal and nice not a whole bunch of pixels bunch up like bitmap. But I feel like vector graphics should be used for art pieces and important things that you don't want to be pixelated when you zoom in. I prefer vector graphics it's clean it looks nice it's not made up of pixels the image is mathematical equations which are translated to points connected by lines/curves known as paths which makes it look very nice. Vector graphics can be used for digital artwork, animation, and video games. Don't get me wrong bitmap is useful but it's when you start to zoom in the image looks really distorted and blurry and you just start seeing little boxes(pixels). Which makes it look really bad! Imagine you were giving a presentation about your artwork and you zoom in to it more so people can see it but your using a bitmap people are gonna say it's blurry can't even see what it is. As an artist I would be so embarrassed but you know who could save the day? VECTOR GRAPHICS the people could see the amazing work you do they want to zoom in and see a small detail sure why not it's not like it's going to be pixelated. Vector graphics are a bit harder to work with than bitmap switching to illustrator from photoshop is a bit of hard change because you gotta export the file to PNG which is not the native file for art piece and on photoshop all you gotta do is save select JPEG or PSD. Overall both are good it just depends on what and what you're looking for but we all know Vector graphics are better they just are they are clean images and would help artists show there digital artwork no problem.
Summary:
My photoshop skills have gotten better I feel more confident and actually I like photoshop now and I'm thinking about purchasing the program but I'm not sure yet. When we got to work with blend modes with black and white pictures and make them realistic by giving them colors it was really cool. I chose the farmer and made him look really dope I gave him a pink suit and gave him a modern look. I felt really confident in myself and I think that assignment really boosted my confidence because my work looks really beautiful and now I think I have a good handle of photoshop. I believe I have a good basic understanding of photoshop now and hopefully I get even better down the road.
Summary:
My experience with photoshop has been a little bit rough because I'm not use to using this app it's something I'm really not into which makes harder for me to understand it. I'm a geek at computer related things but when it comes to programs like photoshop it's hard I felt weird like out of my element I had to ask people for help when is usually people asking me for help. But after sometime getting more practice with it I started to get a little more comfortable it was still hard but not as much when I started off. Some things are confusing like masking things for a project that I had to do the bacon was hard and I didn't understand at all I just made a blank mask not the real one. At this point I was frustrated I really felt like I was gonna struggle but then Mr.B helped me understand it and I practice it a little more and soon understood what layering masking was. It was in the morning when I went for some tutoring to finish my sandwich it looked so good and when it was time to go I saved it but when it was time for me to open the file again I notice that everything that I worked on in the morning was gone. I was really mad at this point because my hard work was gone and I had the before version of the sandwich before I started to work on it in the morning. Thankfully Mr.B saw me save it and said I was fine he saw the effort that I put on it that morning so I was really relief and didn't stress to much but now I make 100% I save my work on my desktop so this accident does not happen again. Overall I feel more comfortable with photoshop and I learn a few things from it hopefully I get better at it through out time.

Author Hello there, I’m Adonay this is my second year as a GAD student here at Durham School Of The arts. I survived my first year with Mr.B and his fast pace class. Now I have a decent amount of knowledge about a few art programs. And a little bit of an understanding of 3D modeling. But I like anime, I’m a computer person, and I love music. I’m your normal teen with a decent amount of knowldege of computers. I try my best not to give up on something that is hard I try pushing through. I’m pretty tall and I LOVE VIDEO GAMES!!! I’m pretty decent at them. The views and opinions expressed in this blog are solely those of the author and do not represent those of Durham School of the Arts or Durham Public Schools.
