Friday afternoon my teacher introduced to us the pen tool it looked easy at first but then it got hard quickly! I didn't know what to do he made us a play a little game that used that tool and I couldn't even finish the tutorial I feel very low about this tool my teacher said that this tool was gonna be the hardest or give the most trouble to students. All I can do at the moment is practice to use it better. Hopefully we don't stay with this tool for to long because at that point I will struggle but I'm not to worry I know that I will over come this tool sooner or later.

This week we switched from Photoshop to Illustrator and lemme tell you it's hard out here for your boy to work with things you gotta select the whole thing you can't just double click as we did in Photoshop. You gotta do that marquee selection to work with one thing but Illustrator is fun unlike Photoshop you can work outside the canvas that's really cool and you can make cool things out of basic shapes. I will miss Photoshop but Illustrator is not bad at all like I started with Photoshop let's hope I get a good basic understanding of Illustrator and get the basics down pack and start growing from there. Overall Illustrator is cool and hopefully I do will with it I made some cool gaming badges just using basic shapes!

Vector graphics are clean you keep zooming in it looks normal and nice not a whole bunch of pixels bunch up like bitmap. But I feel like vector graphics should be used for art pieces and important things that you don't want to be pixelated when you zoom in. I prefer vector graphics it's clean it looks nice it's not made up of pixels the image is mathematical equations which are translated to points connected by lines/curves known as paths which makes it look very nice. Vector graphics can be used for digital artwork, animation, and video games. Don't get me wrong bitmap is useful but it's when you start to zoom in the image looks really distorted and blurry and you just start seeing little boxes(pixels). Which makes it look really bad! Imagine you were giving a presentation about your artwork and you zoom in to it more so people can see it but your using a bitmap people are gonna say it's blurry can't even see what it is. As an artist I would be so embarrassed but you know who could save the day? VECTOR GRAPHICS the people could see the amazing work you do they want to zoom in and see a small detail sure why not it's not like it's going to be pixelated. Vector graphics are a bit harder to work with than bitmap switching to illustrator from photoshop is a bit of hard change because you gotta export the file to PNG which is not the native file for art piece and on photoshop all you gotta do is save select JPEG or PSD. Overall both are good it just depends on what and what you're looking for but we all know Vector graphics are better they just are they are clean images and would help artists show there digital artwork no problem.

Author Hello there, I’m Adonay this is my second year as a GAD student here at Durham School Of The arts. I survived my first year with Mr.B and his fast pace class. Now I have a decent amount of knowledge about a few art programs. And a little bit of an understanding of 3D modeling. But I like anime, I’m a computer person, and I love music. I’m your normal teen with a decent amount of knowldege of computers. I try my best not to give up on something that is hard I try pushing through. I’m pretty tall and I LOVE VIDEO GAMES!!! I’m pretty decent at them. The views and opinions expressed in this blog are solely those of the author and do not represent those of Durham School of the Arts or Durham Public Schools.
